What do you think when you see the stars at night in the sky ???????

I think about how ridiculously, unfathomably, insanely far away they are and likewise for how freakin' huge they are. And how they exist on such a massive scale that they'll never appear to move and nor will I ever be able to reach them in my lifetime.

I think about how the night sky could have been just blackness, but somehow it happened to be magically speckled with light. Is this divine grace? I think about how it really underscores the fact that we're all just on a "tiny" ball suspended in space..

I also wonder just how alive or "dead"/non-living all that stuff out there is. i wonder if it's wishful thinking to think the universe may be largely (or wholly) alive, but I also think it's probably our modern scientific knowledge that misleads us into believing it's mostly dead, meaningless matter. it's the mechanistic outlook that engenders that point of view.
